Best Country Home Design Books

Okay, so everyone’s style evolves over time and it can take years before you can really pin point what you like and the elements of a home that make your heart sing.

We all get inspired by something or someone. We are constantly making visual comparisons and critiques in our mind. It took me 10 years to figure out I loved Provincial French Country, a little splash of antique, a little bit of English cottage and a minimal early American/European inspired aesthetic. It’s OKAY to love a little sprinkle of everything, it’s how you curate and refine that really allows it to shine and become YOUR style.

Once you nail down the themes, characteristics, colours, and details that you love to see in design, you might loose track of them as you scroll Instagram and see flashy design trends.

Instagram can be a beautiful but confusing space. One minute you think you know your style and then you see something and get off the beaten track and forget what you truly like and what is TRULY timeless for you and your home.

That’s why I LOVE design books. Consider these gems your anchors for design choices and planning as you navigate interior design in your own home. If you are reading this blog and following along, then you probably love some aspect of The Cardinal Farmhouse style. So who inspires us?

Well, here are 3 Interior Design books that anchor us and that we think you need in your life if you love old world charm and a sophisticated farmhouse look.
