Simple and Easy Fall Home Decor Ideas

Simple and Easy Fall Home Decor Ideas

Posted by Britt on

Anyone else get super anxious in August when the stores bring in all their fall decor and you start to see people online planning out their mantle, porch, entryway, countertop refreshes and in some cases actually start decorating?

September rolls around and you still don't have a plan but you know you want to add cozy touches to your home somehow and you are just not quite sure what pieces matter most or what to focus on.

Let me give you 5 items that can quickly and easily elevate your space by adding cozy fall vibes to your home without too much thought or money required.

1) Dried Blooms - hydrangeas and bouquets

I personally love a good dried hydrangea. They are timeless, never go out of style and I actually have them in my home all year round. But in the spirit of harvesting, fall is the perfect time to trim hydrangeas and dry them. Simply snip a few stems from your limelight or PeeGee hydrangea plant and dry them in a half glass of water.

If you want something extra special, dried bouquets and stems are the perfect way to add texture, warmth, and a beautiful reminder of the summer just had.

2) Recycled Wool

I can’t rave enough about the importance of throw blankets in fall. Especially recycled wool ones that are hearty, brushed for softness and perfect for styling your home AND staying warm.

Chunky knit cream cotton throws are a more affordable alternative but don’t forget, wool is a timeless investment and our recycled wool blankets from Scotland are machine washable, making them beautifully practical and softer than average.

3) Faux blooms

Not into dried blooms and want something that can withstand the test of storage?

If you don’t love dried blooms year round, faux stems make for a great option that can withstand the test of time. If selected with neutral colours in mind they can also withstand the test of style changes over time too.

We have a wonderful new selection of faux stems that look great paired with ironstone pitchers or large crocks.

4) Candles and candelabras

Scent is a personal element and when paired with an open flame it can be the perfect way to create cozy calmer moments and tap into a simpler nostalgic time. Our positive intention candles are extra special and beautifully scented. They are a must try!

Even more nostalgic, our matte black wall sconces are constantly selling out and make for a timeless and beautiful addition to any wall or room.

5) Woven Baskets

Nothing says fall better than hand woven baskets. Whether used to harvest around your homestead or style an open shelf, this kind of texture can easily bring your space into the realm of cozy and collected.

I hope you felt inspired and empowered to start decorating!

Happy fall!
